How did you get started sledding?
I was introduced to sledding very shortly after I was born by my parents taking me out on their sleds riding around Golden! I haven’t missed a winter on a sled and I don’t plan on letting that streak run out any time soon

What's your favorite thing about snowmobiling?
My favourite thing about snowmobeel 🤘🏻 ing is simply the freedom it can create. Whether it’s the terrain you would never be able to access on anything else that you seem to have basically to yourself or the ability to push your self to try jumps and tricks that you never thought you were able to learn as an individual. But with that soft white pow sometimes anything feels possible.

Any advice for new riders?
Have fun! Just seriously have all the fun everyday and the rest will all work out

How did you get started sledding?
My dad and his good friend Jack Barnett found me a kitty Kat sled for my 2nd birthday and that was the start. Where I grew up in 100 Mile House there was a large snowmobile community and a very active snowbile community that built trails and hosted snow cross races so we all pitched in and it was big part of lives. I'm thankful to grow up and such a strong snowmobile community.

What's your favorite thing about snowmobiling?
My favorite thing about snowmobiling is the freedom I get when on the mountains. I can go anywhere and can do anything I want in the mountains. That is the ultimate freedom for me.

Any advice for new riders?
My advice to new riders is to make sure you are prepared for any situation when travelling in the back country. Get the training, get the gear and make sure you have a crew of riders that you can trust your life with.

How did you get started sledding?
I am blessed to have the raddest dad in the world he got me into sledding when I was 2 yrs old on a kitty Kat. I could only push the throttle in since I was not strong enough yet to turn the handlebars. So I would hold the throttle pinned as he would sprint behind me and grab my rear bumper turning me before hitting anything out in my grandpas field.

What's your favorite thing about snowmobiling?
My favorite thing about snowmobiling would have to be the adrenaline after stomping a gap jump but a close runner up would be the all the good and wild times we have up in the mountains.

Any advice for new riders?
First thing, Get all the proper sledder equipment.
Second, If you want to go into the backcountry and are new possibly try to find an avalanche class of some sort to attend and learn to how use all of the stuff we carry.
Third, Make sure to ALWAYS HAVE FUN RIDING !!!!

Bought my first sleds with plans to have it as sled access to ski in the backcountry, as soon as i started to learn how to ride. I realized i enjoyed being on a sled alot more then on skis.
What's your favorite thing about snowmobiling?
It's hard to pick one thing as my favourite, but breaking trail into your favourite zone on a blue bird day is pretty hard to beat.
Any advice for new riders?
As a new rider, first off take the time to educate your self on backcountry saftey, and how to handle different situations, like avalaches or getting stuck over night, after that find the right riding partners that you can rely on and also push you to progress, the possibilities
are endless out there and if you have the right crew to watch your back and push your riding it will make for a wicked time.

How did you get started sledding?
Well I have pics as a 2year old on some old iron, but I didnt actually drive a sled til I was about 12. My dad, Rick Lee, being a motorsports and watersports guy some how acquired two polaris indy 500's. My older brother and I would ride them around the neighborhood in Tahoe when the winters came and the roads were so snowy. Fast forward to 2001, I was still working as a ski and snowboard technician and I scraped enough cash together to buy a Polaris RMK 144 800. The first couple rides my good buddy Ken Evans took me out at night in 2-3 feet of pow and I was seriously wondering what I had done buying this machine, which I thought would take me to the further locations to snowboard. Well I tuffed it out and kept at it, then after a few months, What snowboard? hahaha I found that my snowmobile could jump higher, go farther faster and was an insane amount of fun!! That was the last season I got over 100 days snowboarding. These days I snowmobile around 3,000 miles a winter, and snowboard about 10 days. Of course I have made riding sleds apart of how I make a living so there is a reason I have to be out riding!
What's your favorite thing about snowmobiling?
My favorite thing has to be the locations. I have been fortunate enough to get to ride some amazing locations, such as: Sweden, Revy, Whistler, Kamtchacka Russia, and almost all of the western USA. Getting to go to remote mountains that are blasted with snow, frozen in time, showing how raw nature can be, and how desolate these remote locations are really make you have to be dialed with your gear, knowledge, skill and crew. You cant just wing it or things wont go very well. Its a triumphant feeling when you get to ride somewhere nobody has been and find amazing features to get sendy on, and stomp some rad lines then come home on empty and make it back to the family.
Any advice for new riders?
Go take an avalanche class on the snow!!!!!!!!!! Not only will you gain life saving information and knowledge on how to avoid avalanches, but you will also get to ride with seasoned instructors that are usually a total blast! You will test your skills, gain new riding techniques, and learn a lot about proper procedures, backcountry safety, learn how to use your transceiver probe and shovel, and understand how to read an avalanche forecast or learn about how the snow layers work together to make instabilities and how to read them. Not to mention how to pay attention to natures red flags that avalanches are possible or not likely. Its not rocket sience and I thing every rider out there needs formal education. Just experience alone is not enough if you ask me, and I used to think I knew enough before I took my first class..... and now Im an instructor, pro instructor, and instructor trainer. It changed my life when I learned what I didnt know I didnt know.......

How did you get started sledding?
I first got started riding snowmobiles when I was a younger kid going on rides with my dad. Years of riding with him led to me wanting to ride solo. Then years of riding solo got me into watching the backcountry riders and wanting to do that. Finally got my own first mountain sled and it all started there.

What's your favorite thing about snowmobiling?
My favorite element of riding snowmobiles is the stress free, care free enjoyment. I enjoy ripping through the trails or launching hits or rallying with my good buddies. The community I’ve come across in the sport has pretty much shaped my life to what it is now.

Any advice for new riders?
If I was to have any advice to new coming riders it would be to have as much possible fun, don’t stress, don’t get aggravated and stay humble and smart.

My Dad put me on a sled at the age of 3 and I've been riding ever since.

What's your favorite thing about snowmobiling?
My favorite part about riding is the feeling of doing pow turns on a bluebird day. There is something that is so freeing and peaceful about being on a sled in the mountains covered in a blanket of fresh snow.

Any advice for new riders?
Advice for new riders is to practice while you go ride. If you want to learn a new skill you need to not just play in the game, but you need to practice outside of the game. Get in good physical shape and practice while you go ride.

I was introduced to sledding through backcountry skiing. It went from that to sled skiing, to just sledding and leaving the skis home.

What's your favorite thing about snowmobiling?
My favorite thing about snowmobiling is the physicality and challenge it takes to be good. It makes me feel like I always have lots of room to improve. I also love how it takes the most miserable time of the year and transforms it into by far my favorite season.

Any advice for new riders?
My advice for new riders is to have fun not being good. Ride with shredders who can show you what's up. And just have fun. We have it better than anyone ever has in this sport with respect to the equipment available!

How did you get started sledding?
I have always had a passion for motor vehicles, growing up on a farm twenty minutes of town gave me endless areas to explore. My first snowmobile I believe was a 70s arctic cat lynx, shortly after I got it we had a huge snow storm in 2006. I remember going up and down the highway in front of our house having dad pull me every 5 feet so I could keep going. I'm sure that's where my passion for chasing pow came from. Bouncing on and off our trampoline since the snow level was the same height "we did not have one that summer ;) " . In grade 4 Dad bought me a 96 Polaris Indy sport touring and man did I fall inlove with that snowmobile. I would rush home every day off the bus throw my snow gear on then ride into the hills. Usually, I'd run out of fuel within a couple of hours until I figured out how to syphon Mom's car. I'll admit the spachula to the rear was worth the extra hours enjoying the snow. All in all I guess what fueled my passion would be my parents getting me my first snowmobile, Grandparents subscribing me to snow west magazine and countless adventures.
What's your favorite thing about snowmobiling?
Meeting new people. Exploring places with my family and friends. Endless limits
Any advice for new riders?
Never be afraid to meet new people everyone wants to get out and have a good time. I have met countless people in this industry from parking lots, to the mountain top, from social media, to riding clinics that make the sport more enjoyable while visiting new riding areas. Can't go wrong with having too many friends.

How did you get started sledding?
My dad got me into sledding when I was 10 with my first sled a 2000 skidoo 600. I rode that around for two winters just around home in the fields until he told me that we should make a trip out to golden and see how I do out in the mountains. The rest is history I've been hooked on it ever since!!
What's your favorite thing about snowmobiling?
How intense it is getting a rush of adrenaline when you stomp that trick or make that line you've been trying hard to nail. I also really enjoy all the different people that I get to meet while out on the mountain. I always like to meet new people that share the same passion for the sport!! Let's not forget those pow days either!!
Any advice for new riders?
Confidence is key, you will always want to have confidence in yourself. Also It's all about your technique, not about how strong you are. Practice your technique and you will get better.

How did you get started sledding?
First time I was 14 riding with my dad on a snow checked M8. Fell in love with the sled, even though I couldn't ride well. I wanted more and after seeing an experienced rider send a cornice jump, I was sold. Since then I've been trying to learn technical tree riding and getting into jumping.
What's your favorite thing about snowmobiling?
First thing is meeting the awesome people in the sport and industry. The bond with fellow riders is hard to beat. Also the places we get to go and see that we otherwise wouldn't, it's unlike anything else on earth!

Any advice fornewriders?
Keep with it, enjoy the process, it only gets better. Ride with others who push you out of your comfort zone. Don't overlook avalanche safety and having good gear. You'll grow and develop with seat time, no other way!

How did you get started sledding?
My dad started me off at 2 years old on a 1985 Kitty Cat with a rope attached and ran circles in the lawn until the snow came. After that I was hooked. I started racing at the age of 4. Once I was comfortable on the sled I began hitting front yard booters on my 120. Fast forward 5 years and am now I am hitting booters in the backcountry.

What's your favorite thing about snowmobiling?
Everything from the places you get to see, the people you get to meet, the challenges you face, the grit you put in for a successful day of riding, and the feeling you get when you push the limits and accomplish your goals. There is literally nothing better.

Any advice for new riders?
Young or old there is no better time to start then now. Always be safe and be educated about where you ride and have the proper riding gear. Ride with experienced riders who can help you to grow as a rider. If you see deep pow don’t be afraid to get stuck that’s what shovels and friends are for. If you spot a jump send it! Also, make sure you know where your brake is.

How did you get started sledding?
I moved to Whistler in 2002 to snowboard. When I arrived in Whistler, I met some friends who snowmobiled! I would hear the stories of how sick backcountry shredding was and was so hyped on it, but sledding is a rich man's sport. Working at Misty Mountain Pizza, I didn't have that type of cash to buy a truck and sled! I moved to Pemberton, where there was a local TV station that played the local sled videos, and I couldn't stop thinking about wanting to be a sledder! I built up my credit and went into heavy debt buying a new truck and sled in 2007. That was the start of the future of bad financial decision's to snowmobile on money I didn't have. The rest is history.

What's your favorite thing about snowmobiling?
That's a hard question. For me, it's all about shredding with your friends! There's seriously nothing better than slaying a sunny pow day with your homies!!! My life has forever been changed since discovering the backcountry!

Any advice for new riders?
Before even attempting to jump on a sled, go hard in the gym! It is not a walk in the park out there; it's extremely physical! Cardio helps me a ton in the pre-season. If you're in good shape, it will be much easier to learn. Get educated! It's serious business out there, and if you're ignorant to the dangers, it could be life or death! Avalanches and stupid mistakes can be fatal!
Surround yourself with capable riders who are patient and willing to babysit you. There's nothing worse than being in trouble on a pow day with no friends in sight! Have all your safety gear prepared; it goes a long way in a tough situation. Use your gear and know it before attempting to go shredding.
Bring food and water! Fast carbs really keep me performing when it gets rough out there. And most importantly, have fun; that's what it's about. Ohh yea, get insurance and enough money saved up to heli your sled out of the backcountry. Stuff can go sideways!
Favorite food:
I gotta go with Sushi! If your ever in Whistler hit up Sushi village, it will change your life!

I got started sledding riding with my family out of the cabin in eastern washington when i was a little grom, just sittin squirrel holdin onto the bars. decided enough was enough and graduated to a snowscoot, the rest is history.

Cause whos riding with people that wont put their life on the line for you?

What's your favorite thing about snowmobiling?
The progression and technical driving aspect of backcountry riding is my favorite thing about snowmobiling. Introducing new riders to the sport and helping them advance their skills is also one of my favorite things about the sport!

How did you get started sledding?
I got started sledding through my father. He has been sledding his whole life, so I have been around it for a long time and he got me hooked. I didn’t buy my first sled until I was about 17 but after that I have rode pretty much every weekend. My dad has ran a long track sled since the early 2000’s in Ontario. So I kind of skipped the trail scene all together and started backcountry riding from the start.

What is your favourite thing about sledding?
My favourite thing about sledding is the community and having fun with your friends and family. There is something special about being in the backcountry with your best friends having the time of your life. I am very lucky to be able to take a month off work each year and ride out west everyday. That being said you get to meet a lot of people along the way. Weather it is making new friends at the cabin, finding new zones with your buddy’s, meeting a guy in a parking lot who has parts for you to get back on the snow the next day, or hitting some new pow at a spot you have rode 100 times. There is always a smile on my face and everybody else’s. this sport brings so many people together in such a positive way it’s incredible. I really enjoy watching people progress as well. It is really cool to see how far we can push each other.
Any advice for new riders?
My advice to new riders is to get educated, and push all your friends to do so as well. At the end of the day snowmobiling is the most rewarding sport but it is also dangerous. It is very easy to get caught up in social media watching all these incredible riders do all these crazy jumps/ drops and pulls ect. But what you dont see is the behind the scenes. These riders are educated in the terrain, the conditions, and the avalanche risks. For new riders backcountry snowmobiling can be very overwhelming. It’s important to take things slow and learn in a safe manner. It is also important to push your friends/peers to do so as well. At the end of the day if you are in trouble you rely on the people with you to rescue you. So it is important for everyone in your group to be trained. Ask questions, don’t be afraid to meet new people in cabins or parking lots. The snowmobile community is very friendly.

How did you get started sledding?
I started sledding when I was 10 years old on a 1972 skidoo elan 250. It was a gift from my grandpa for my 10th birthday. From that day on I was addicted to the sport.

What's your favorite thing about snowmobiling?
My favourite part about sledding is probably the freedom you have in the backcountry. Going out with your buddies and exploring new areas while pushing your limits just gives you an adrenaline rush like no other. I love the sledding community and all the new people you meet along the way.

I started riding sleds at a younger age on old 340 fan cooled sleds that had to stop once in a while to put snow on the motor to cool down and from that point on I was hooked.

How did you get started sledding?
Our family was big into sleds as a kid, I got my first sled on Christmas morning (85' Yamaha Bravo). Growing up in upstate NY sledding was mostly trail riding and ditch banging. I moved to Lake Tahoe in 2007 and had my mind blown experiencing big mountain riding. I have an appreciation for all aspects of riding, but big mountain riding is my true passion.

What's your favorite thing about snowmobiling?
Exploring new zones, and that feeling of weightlessness in deep powder.
